Auto Configure DNS entries with Appranix
Step 1:
Have the
Route53 backup and restore scripts downloaded for execution using your service/user account with permission to read-write to the s3 bucket and full access to Route53.
Step 2:
Execute the Route53 backup script first, which will store the Route53 configuration in your s3 bucket.
Step 3:
Configure
DNS update extension as part of the post-recovery webhook in Appranix and execute recovery. This will change all the A records and C-Names that were pointing to the source environment's IP and internal-dns to the equivalent recovered environment's IP and internal-dns.
Step 4:
Verify the application if it is working as expected with the DNS switched.
Step 5:
After you have reset the recovered environment, run the
Route53 Restore script to reset it back to its original settings.
If you have any questions, please let us know. Moreover, we will be integrating this workflow further using extensions so that it is simpler for you to execute.
